We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage. With over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data created daily, we aim to help teams store data on open source storage solutions using commodity hardware—safely, affordably, and simply.
Our goal is to make Ceph easy to install, manage, and use—from large enterprise data centers to edge sites. We believe distributed storage should be straightforward, and we are excited to make Ceph accessible enough for everyone to use.
As an engineering manager at Canonical, you should be technically skilled, but your primary responsibility is to run an effective team and develop your colleagues. You will help them grow professionally and personally, ensure high-quality work, and collaborate well with colleagues and the community. Technical leadership and a background in software engineering are prerequisites. You will lead, challenge, and develop engineers, influence company culture positively, facilitate technical delivery, and work on strategy and execution. You will also oversee sound software architecture, quality, testing, and documentation.
