A Snapshot of Your Day

The role of a Product Detail Design Checker involves checking and verifying all drawings, models, assemblies, and bills of material to project requirements and standards. The models and drawings include 3D NX models, 2D line work, and reference information to ensure downstream understanding. Daily activities may include attending scope kickoff meetings, addressing queries from manufacturing facilities and vendors, and mentoring team members. Excellent collaboration and communication are essential, and this position offers growth opportunities beyond the core checker role, including interaction with the global Siemens-Energy Turbo Compression Products Organization.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure engineering and design processes are followed with necessary approvals.
  • Verify the accuracy of detail and vendor drawings for fitment, manufacturability, and standards compliance, while maintaining on-time delivery and budgets.
  • Create layout drawings and 3D models, specify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and maintain organized records.
  • Apply drafting and engineering standards, focusing on economical manufacturing, and perform self-reviews for accuracy.
  • Provide training to less experienced team members and support manufacturing, purchasing, and quality teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design tools, standards, and product offerings.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, or related experience in drafting and rotating machinery such as turbo-compressors or centrifugal pumps. More experienced candidates may be considered for senior roles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to see the big picture.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams on complex projects, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced CAD tools, ERP systems (SAP or Oracle), and PLM systems (Team Center/Globus).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~5-15%).
