Qualificações

Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Emerging Markets FX Trader with deep expertise in African and/or Latin American currencies to join our global trading & liquidity team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing illiquid and restricted FX markets, executing OTC and interbank trades, and designing robust hedging and liquidity frameworks to support high-volume cross-border payment flows. This role requires both strong trading capability and infrastructure expertise, including building and optimizing FX trading systems, hedging engines, and liquidity connectivity with banks, brokers, and OTC counterparties.Key Responsibilities
FX Trading & Liquidity Management
Manage proprietary and flow-drivenFX trading positions across Emerging Market currencies, with a focus onAfrican (e.g., NGN, KES, ZAR, GHS)orLATAM (e.g., BRL, MXN, COP, ARS)markets.
Source and maintaindeep liquidity relationships with banks, brokers, and OTC desksacross relevant regions.
Executespot, forwards, NDFs, swaps, and OTC tradesto optimize execution quality and manage currency exposure.
Monitormarket developments, capital controls, and liquidity dynamicsacross EM FX markets.Hedging Strategy & Risk Management
Design and implementFX hedging strategieesto manage corporate or client-driven exposures.
Optimize hedging efficiency acrossmultiple liquidity venues including banks, ECNs, OTC desks, and crypto liquidity poolswhere relevant.
Develop models fordynamic hedging, inventory risk management, and spread optimization.
Monitor risk limits, Pn L, and exposure across currency books.Trading Infrastructure & Systems
Work closely with engineering and product teams to build and enhanceFX trading and hedging infrastructure, including:
Automatedhedging engines
Liquidity aggregation systems
Smart order routing
Pricing and risk management tools
Integrate connectivity withbanks, ECNs, and liquidity providersvia APIs or FIX protocols.
Improveexecution automation, latency optimization, and real-time exposure monitoring.Market Development
Identify and onboardnew liquidity providers and OTC trading partnersacross emerging markets.
Build pricing frameworks forilliquid currency pairsand support new corridor launches.
Contribute to the development ofscalable FX infrastructuresupporting global payments and settlement flows.Requirements
Experience
5–10+ years of FX trading experiencein Emerging Markets.
Strong experience tradingAfrican or LATAM currencies, such as:
Africa: NGN, KES, ZAR, GHS, EGP
LATAM: BRL, MXN, COP, CLP, ARS
Experience working at:
Global banks
EM FX trading firms
Payment / fintech companies
Crypto exchanges or market makers
Proven experience executingOTC and institutional-sized FX trades.Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of:
FX market microstructure in illiquid markets
NDF markets and offshore hedging
Capital controls and FX regulatory frameworks
Hands-on experience building or optimizing:
FX trading systems
Hedging engines
Liquidity aggregation platforms
Familiarity withFIX connectivity, API-based trading systems, and algorithmic execution.Skills
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
