Purpose of Position:

For our Belo Horizonte office, we are looking for a software engineer to be part of a team. The team is responsible to develop software for Hexagon Mining products, contributing to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, using technologies such as C++, ROS, DDS, Typescript, React, MQTT, etc... to build the applications. Your primary responsibilities will be to develop these applications, help architects in minor designs and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.

Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Development and maintenance of C++, ROS, C# applications;
• Translate designs and use cases into functional applications.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

• Intermediate English
• Knowledge in one of, and general familiarity in: C++, ROS
• Programming/API knowledge
• Open to learn and work with other technologies
• Skill for writing reusable libraries
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Familiarity with popular web application frameworks
• Knack for writing clean, readable code
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• At least 5 years of work experience

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

• Familiarity with Databases such as: PostgreSQL (SQL Server also helps)
• Knowledge and experience with SCRUM process or other Agile Methodologies
• Experience with MQTT or DDS or other message queuing protocol
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Implementing unit tests
• Fluent English
• Docker
• Linux Commands
• WSL
• Familiarity with CI/CD Tools such as Bamboo
• Familiarity with issue tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
• Familiarity with Bitbucket
• Experience with Rest, WebAPI, Webservices
• Understanding object-oriented programming
