The Maintenance Technician carries out maintenance and repair work on electrical and/or mechanical installations or equipment, such as production machinery, rotating equipment, electrical installations, transport systems, buildings, facilities, and constructions. The goal is to ensure technical assignments are completed on time, safely, and according to specifications to support optimal production operations.
The technician operates within a production/technical department, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance. Their primary purpose is to prevent malfunctions of equipment, machinery, or systems used in production. They may also support other facilities like R&D laboratories, office facilities, and technical buildings, handling troubleshooting and tasks to prevent future disturbances.
The role may be specialized in one technical discipline, such as construction, mechanical, rotating, or electrical, or more versatile, capable of addressing issues across related technical areas. The scope and expertise level vary depending on the facility size. The highest level, the 'all-round' Maintenance Technician, can troubleshoot and resolve issues across various technical domains.
Record all maintenance activities in appropriate management systems to ensure comprehensive oversight and historical tracking of equipment status and data.
Operate in accordance with all relevant safety regulations and technical standards. Signal potential hazards and take appropriate measures to address imminent safety concerns.
