An established industry player is seeking an EHS Manager for Latin America to lead compliance with environmental health and safety regulations. This role involves developing strategies that enhance safety and environmental systems while managing a team of EHS managers across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record in EHS management within a manufacturing environment. Primary Purpose:
• Establish systems to ensure compliance with local Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and Goodyear standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategies and policies that ensure safety, occupational health, and environmental systems are in place that enable continuous improvement both for Latin America operations.
• Drive the EHS systems/tools integration into the Latin America operations - provide visibility to key performance indicators.
• Prepare for and participate in regional and global meetings / workshops to provide strategic direction/alignments on EHS.
• Lead and develop a team of plant EHS managers.
Main Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 7 EHS managers at multiple LA locations
• Ensure compliance to country regulations and Goodyear standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategies, programs, and policies that reduce risk of injuries, illness, and environmental incidents \
• Lead the continuous improvement of of EHS management systems, programs, and policies. Provide communication to Goodyear leadership regarding performance to metrics, system progress, and compliance status.
Education and Certifications
Required:
BS in environmental health and safety, engineering, science, or related degree.
Desired:
MS in environmental health and safety or MBA, professional certification in one or more disciplines.
Experience
Required:
At least 10 years leading an EHS function within a manufacturing setting.
Desired:
Experience working with other functions of the business such as R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc. in addition to Manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
Ability to communicate to all levels of leadership including organized labor.
Excellent verbal and written skills with knowledge of Microsoft systems and tools.
Ability to make decisions under difficult and challenging situations, and provide leadership, at all levels with a sense of confidence.
Ability and understanding to link their activities to the business.
