As a Field Service Winder Engineer, you will play a vital role in creating products that fulfill both business and technical needs of our customers. You'll oversee the installation, commissioning, startup, and various levels of maintenance and troubleshooting of our products. You'll use your knowledge and skills to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.

As a Field Service Winder Engineer, you will be responsible for:

1. Perform winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance, and repairs on generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
2. Carry out basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to access the generator windings.
3. Conduct electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field.
4. Perform visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor, and excitation system.
5. Carry out in-situ generator winding repairs, including stator re-wedge work.
6. Work as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations.
7. Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments, which may not involve winding activities.
8. Supervise and train internal and external customers.
9. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements; prepare method statements and detailed reports for customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customer premises.
10. Conduct on-site risk assessments for each assignment and record details accordingly.
11. Perform other duties as directed by the Field Service Manager.

Fuel your passion

To succeed in this role, you will:

1. Hold a qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
2. Be qualified through a recognized craft apprenticeship in armature winding on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.
3. Experience working on competitors' equipment is advantageous.
4. Be competent in soldering, brazing, crimping, and HV insulating procedures.
5. Be an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English and Portuguese.
6. Be able to undertake extensive overseas and offshore work, often for extended periods.
7. Have experience representing the company at customer sites and working remotely on your own initiative, following the company's code of conduct.
8. Adhere to health and safety rules, including safe systems of work for high and medium voltage electrical systems and heavy industrial environments.
9. Possess a high level of technical competence, self-sufficiency, and resourcefulness, as factory support may not always be immediately available.
10. Be able to work alone or as part of a team, depending on the assignment.
11. Have a clear understanding of cultural differences and the diplomacy to handle various aspects of the role.
