Job Description:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, calibration, and testing of electrical systems and equipment, including power generation, transmission, and distribution networks. This position will also troubleshoot, ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory needs, and collaborate on cross-functional teams on special projects and daily operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective, particularly in the specialized area involving electro-mechanical equipment, pneumatic systems, and related computer and hardware systems.
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems, manufacturing systems, and electrical equipment.
- Collaborate with Controls Engineering in creating controls architecture and connection guides.
- Ensure proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and adherence to engineering design standards.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical and other engineers on comprehensive solutions.
- Coordinate all phases of projects from concept, scope development, specifications, bid solicitations, engineering/design, manufacturing, installation, to start-up, acceptance, and close-out.
- Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues, especially involving mechanical equipment and related systems.
- Oversee onsite work conducted by contractors.
- Coach and develop technical talent in daily activities.
Key Ingredients:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in a mid to large-sized manufacturing facility
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
- Experience creating and maintaining electrical schematics
- Knowledge of system design following international and Brazilian electrical regulations and standards (e.g., UL, CSA, MD, IEC, IEEE)
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local and federal statutory requirements
- Knowledge of Controls architecture
