About the Team:

Uber Connect and Direct are rapidly growing products in the C2C (Consumer to Consumer) and B2C (Business to Consumer) spaces, respectively. This role involves building features for the Connect suite of products while maintaining high quality and reliability.

Uber Connect (also known as Flash) enables consumers to request deliveries to or from other consumers within their city, such as sending documents or returning keys. The Uber Rider app serves as the entry point.

Uber Direct is our business-level offering, allowing merchants to create deliveries via our Dashboard or by integrating directly with our public API, enabling them to add delivery services to their websites or apps.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and others to build towards the product roadmap.
• Write high-quality code, ensuring testing and coverage standards are met.
• Contribute to engineering culture through quality assurance, monitoring, and on-call practices.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field OR 3 years of full-time Software Engineering experience, including:

• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Note: The 3 years of specialized software engineering experience may include education, work, training, coursework, or research, in any combination. The years of experience are not necessarily additive to the education years.

• Strong English language skills for collaboration with global teams.
• Fundamentals of algorithms and data structures, including hash tables, trees, stacks, queues, linked lists, DFS, BFS.

• A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and initiative to solve problems and optimize systems inside and outside your immediate responsibilities.
