Role Overview

BMC is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team working on the Helix Capacity Optimization product. You will contribute to project design, develop new features, maintain existing ones, troubleshoot technical issues, and help improve our development processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
2. Develop and enhance features using Java, Spring, Swagger, REST API, SpringBoot, Docker, Kubernetes.
3. Troubleshoot complex technical problems in development and production environments.
4. Implement methodologies, processes, and tools to improve development efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Java backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Spring, Swagger, REST API, SpringBoot, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and passion for technology.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills & Development Opportunities

• Experience with Public Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of Python, Node.js, C/C++.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks.

Additional Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Collaborate with support and engineering teams.
• Document issues and resolutions.
• Conduct training and update technical documentation.
• Gather customer feedback for product improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 6+ years in enterprise software development within Agile environments.
• Customer service or technical support experience.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in C++ and Java programming.
• Ability to read, modify, and reuse existing code.
• Experience with SQL queries, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, macOS environments.
• Understanding of Git, Jira, Confluence, networking basics.
