IT System Engineer

About the role

The role of the IT system engineer can be both challenging and rewarding. This role requires strong technical expertise, along with business acumen, interpersonal skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a global IT operations team. Your main responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our systems, as well as participate in on-call team rotations. Your expertise in infrastructure as code, systems infrastructure, cloud technologies, and network infrastructure will be crucial in driving our success.

This is a FULL Remote position so good home internet is required, and hours will be, Monday - Friday between 8:00AM and 5:00 PM in the employee’s time zone.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure as Code: Develop and manage infrastructure through automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
2. Systems Infrastructure: Implement and maintain virtualization, containerization (Docker), SAN, BDR, and patch/vulnerability management solutions for Windows and Linux.
3. Cloud: Manage and optimize cloud services, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra, and Exchange Online.
4. Network Infrastructure: Design and maintain network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewall policy, VPNs (point-to-point and site-to-site), SD-WAN, load balancers, ACLs and NSGs.

Qualifications:

1. Effective communication in English (oral and written).
2. 3-5 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Azure CLI).
4. Experience with systems infrastructure technologies (virtualization, containerization, Docker, SAN, BDR, patch/vulnerability management).
5. Proficiency in cloud services (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra, Exchange Online).
6. Solid understanding of network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewall policies, SD-WAN, load balancers, VPNs, ACLs, NSGs).
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Self-motivated, take initiative and ownership of your duties.
10. Enjoy working in a collaborative environment, value mentorship, and can balance priorities.
11. Team player but can also operate independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
2. Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
3. Experience working in a global team.
