The Role

As a zOS DB2 Systems Support at Kyndryl, you'll have the opportunity to shape the foundation of technology that drives our world. Your responsibilities include developing, testing, and maintaining software that controls operating systems, hardware, and other systems software. You will be a master troubleshooter and problem-solver, fixing complex issues efficiently.

You will ensure the security of our computer systems and collaborate with IT professionals to design and implement advanced technologies that keep Kyndryl ahead. Your role involves providing support for Mainframe OS platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming, guiding technical objectives, and leveraging your expertise to solve complex problems.

Additionally, you will conduct RCA discussions, provide technical and operational guidance to professional teams, and potentially manage departments at a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources for project success.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Logical DBA
• DB2 Application Performance and Tuning
• Support for application development teams using DB2
• Knowledge of JCL, TSO, SDSF, JES2, ISPF, z/OS, DB2 Utilities, and related tools
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, C++
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Linux, UNIX, or z/OS operating systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Advanced English and Spanish skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with NetView / SysView, FTP, SFTP, Axway CFT, Connect: Direct, VIPA, DVIPA, in complex GDPS environments
• Experience with IBM QMF, SPUFI, DB2 Admin, and ISV tools
• DB2 Backup and Recovery
• Project management skills for leading DB2 projects with clients and support teams
