Role Overview:

The Director of Manufacturing Technology is responsible for driving technological innovation and efficiency in our manufacturing operations globally. This role involves developing and executing a strategic roadmap for advanced manufacturing and materials handling equipment, processes, and infrastructure to meet Flowserve’s business goals for operational efficiency and cost management. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Engineering within the Global Operations Excellence organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a diverse, geographically dispersed team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Act as a strategic visionary in digital manufacturing, identifying opportunities for optimization and monitoring results.
  • Partner with the business to develop and implement enterprise manufacturing strategic roadmaps aligned with overall business strategies.
  • Drive a customer-focused, ethical culture within the Manufacturing Technology team, aligned with Flowserve values.
  • Build a flexible digital manufacturing framework supporting advanced technologies and standardizing OT/IT integration.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to embrace technologies that improve performance, quality, and safety.
  • Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance agility and productivity.
  • Standardize CAM tools and processes, including transitioning to offline programming and centralized NC programming teams.
  • Standardize equipment, tooling, and processes, maintaining a database and preferred equipment catalog.
  • Collaborate with operations leaders and stakeholders to align initiatives with business needs.
  • Manage budgets for AOP, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Sciences, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing/business functions.
  • 7+ years in manufacturing, supply chain, or related initiatives.
  • Strategic technical leadership and experience in digital strategy deployment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, ERP, MES, and IT disciplines.
  • Proven project delivery success, including system implementations and process improvements.
  • Leadership skills with a hands-on approach, motivating and inspiring teams across regions.
  • Experience leading organizational change and staff development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Business and financial acumen, especially in capital projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
