Description

Infrastructure is one of IFC's strategic priorities. IFC's Infrastructure department supports the World Bank Group's aim of improving access to efficient, reliable, and affordable infrastructure for the poor in emerging markets. The team is responsible for originating and managing IFC's investment activities in sectors such as Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission, Mining, Transport & Logistics, Telecommunications, Water, Waste, Privatized Public Services, and other Subnational/Cities financing. IFC's focus includes increasing access to basic infrastructure services, supporting local companies while improving transparency and corporate governance, exploring new investment opportunities, catalyzing foreign direct investments, developing financial products including Public-Private Partnerships, and building long-term partnerships with global and regional players.

The Latin America and the Caribbean Infrastructure Unit, involved in origination, structuring, and supervision of investments in the region, seeks an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to join our team in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and analyze financial models; project finance modeling experience is a plus.
• Support in structuring new transactions.
• Review and analyze financial statements.
• Conduct industry, market research, and support business development efforts.
• Prepare pitchbooks and proposals.
• Review company information and prepare reports.
• Prepare documentation for IFC processes.
• Support investment negotiations.
• Monitor investments and ensure compliance with IFC requirements.
• Assist in due diligences with exposure to client operations.

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis within financial institutions, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or related sectors.
• Experience in infrastructure projects and project finance is advantageous.
• Knowledge of regional macroeconomic, regulatory, and market conditions is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business judgment skills.
• Ability to work in multicultural teams and across boundaries.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling in Excel.
• Teamwork skills, proactive attitude, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Interest in emerging markets and willingness to travel.
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.

Note: The position offers a one-year renewable appointment, with a maximum of three years. Former and current ET staff who have completed the third year are ineligible for future ET appointments.
