IV.AI, a US company headquartered in Los Angeles, is looking for remote Data Scientists to work on machine learning problems, especially in NLP, for unstructured data and large enterprise clients. The role involves improving our product suite. The ideal candidate should be helpful, responsive, dependable, and comfortable working remotely within a small team with tight deadlines. We value collaborative, enthusiastic individuals passionate about machine learning.

Your primary responsibility is to independently identify and deliver business insights from diverse data sources, producing production-ready code, CSVs, and compelling visual narratives.

Salary: $30,000 to $45,000 USD, depending on experience
Timezone: PST

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver projects involving diverse data and business targets
• Contribute to internal product features and client-specific deliverables
• Manage report delivery and contribute to documentation
• Explore datasets and create narrative visualizations
• Build linguistic and statistical models
• Translate business problems into computational tasks like classification or ranking

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with SQL queries and Python/Jupyter models
• 2+ years of statistical analysis experience
• Clear communication skills, empathetic speaking and writing
• High standards of work quality
• Attention to detail, spotting typos, syntax errors, and data issues
• Ability to define evidence-based, quantifiable solutions for open-ended problems

Bonus Points

• Experience with NLP techniques or computational linguistics
• Strong data storytelling skills
• Experience with Git (pull, push, merge, PR, issue tracking)
• Knowledge of Regular Expressions
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL 12+
• Sample writing in English, ideally related to data
