Description

Jalasoft is seeking a talented Database Developer with a strong foundation in data engineering to join our forward-thinking team. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing database solutions, as well as engineering data pipelines that support analytics and reporting. Your expertise will help transform data into actionable insights, contributing to our mission of driving innovation and excellence in the software industry.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server (SSMS, T-SQL, performance tuning)
• ETL/ELT pipeline development
• Strong experience debugging and optimizing complex SQL queries
• Version control (Git or equivalent) for database code
• Primarily Back-End Data Engineering
• Comfortable working across data platforms and enterprise-level database systems

Soft Skills (Must-Have):

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Proactive communicator and self-starter
• Comfortable working in loosely defined project scopes with evolving requirements
• Clear and concise written documentation
• Effective communicator in remote/hybrid environments

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Google BigQuery (SQL dialect, partitioning, clustering, optimization)
• Knowledge of GCP data services (Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Functions)
• Familiarity with data ingestion tools/patterns between on-prem SQL Server and GCP
• Experience migrating databases from SQL Server to GCP
