Your Role

As a Data Scientist with insurance industry expertise, you will empower our clients to make data-informed decisions by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and domain-specific insights. You will work at the intersection of data, business, and AI to help reimagine insurance offerings that are customer-centric, predictive, and efficient.

• Design and develop machine learning models, predictive algorithms, and statistical analyses to address underwriting, fraud detection, claims optimization, and customer retention.
• Collaborate closely with actuaries, underwriters, product managers, and developers to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
• Apply deep understanding of insurance data (e.g., policy data, claims history, risk profiles) to clean, wrangle, and model complex datasets.
• Drive experimentation using A/B testing, segmentation, and scenario analysis to improve insurance pricing and risk scoring models.
• Build scalable data pipelines and maintain reproducibility using cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Databricks.
• Present findings through compelling storytelling and data visualization to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of regulatory frameworks such as Solvency II, IFRS 17, and data governance policies in the insurance sector.

Who You Are

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer, with at least 2 years working with insurance data or clients.
• Strong command of statistical modeling, machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, and time-series forecasting), and data mining techniques.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; experience with R is a plus.
• Familiarity with insurance domains such as P&C, Life & Health, Reinsurance, or InsurTech platforms.
• Experienced in working with data stored in relational databases, data lakes, or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of actuarial methods, risk modeling, and customer lifetime value (CLV) metrics is preferred.
• Comfortable with cloud-native tools (AWS Sagemaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML) and MLOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams or agile environments.
