SAExploration is a leading full-service seismic company currently seeking experienced and qualified Marine Data Managers to support our global operations, with immediate opportunities available in Brazil. The Marine Data Manager is responsible for managing all seismic data collected during operations, from acquisition through to delivery. Key duties include generating Seg-D files for QC by merging raw data with source timestamps. This role involves physically demanding work in challenging offshore environments, requiring 12–14-hour shifts on a rotational schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all data management practices comply with company policies, including the Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, and FCPA.
- Maintain and update an accurate inventory of all field and front-end equipment; ensure equipment is operational, properly configured, and running the latest software/firmware.
- Supervise and support field crew operations, including layout, node deployment, spread QC, and system troubleshooting.
- Coordinate daily data harvesting and synchronization using HCR units and the harvest management system; identify and log faulty nodes.
- Conduct and support training for crew members on system usage, data collection best practices, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor and QC data daily, including AUX node results, source/receiver gathers, and equipment performance; elevate any data integrity or system issues.
- Manage and organize all seismic data (logs, FFIDs, SPS versions, backups), and ensure timely production of shot and receiver gathers.
- Use tools like Seisnet and Fairfield admin utilities for data transcription, correlation, storage monitoring, and QC.
- Support cross-functional communication by advising other departments on system capabilities and technical limitations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Technical diploma/certificate or equivalent combination of field experience and training.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing job duties, environments, and recording systems>
- Proficient in map reading, Microsoft Office, and use of RFID readers.
- Experience with Geospace, ZLand, or Sercel UNITE nodal systems preferred.
- Demonstrates commitment to learning, sound judgment, and an understanding of core business practices.
- Able to balance attention to detail with productivity in a fast-paced setting.
