A leading company in the offshore industry is looking for an HR professional to provide expert advice on employee relations and support management in Brazil. The role involves managing disciplinary procedures, liaising with trade unions, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Ideal candidates will have experience in offshore logistics and a strong understanding of employee relations practices.
• Providing advice and support to line and/or shipboard management on employee relations issues, ensuring advice is professional, commercial and focused on the business requirements in line with legislation;
• Proactively encouraging employee engagement and communication;
• Building strong relationships with line and shipboard management; support the management of the interface between departments and outsourced suppliers;
• Playing an active role in disciplinary, grievance, performance management and harassment procedures. Guide managers through the process, assist with investigations and recommend appropriate action in consultation with the Crewing Director for more complex issues;
• Supporting the Crewing Director to develop and implement procedures in line with legislation to suit business requirement;
• Supporting the Crewing Director with input for operational, (de)mobilisations, preservation and reactivation activities such as:
-Immigration and visa management;
-Management and service performance of manpower (crewing) providers;
-Occupational Health and Absence Management; and
-Employee Relations Case Management.
• Assisting the Crewing Director managing fleet related industrial relationships with trade unions;
• Being the first point of contact for marine personnel for answering employee queries in a professional and efficient manner;
•Managing both individual employee and management issues concerning short and long term absence in line with best practice and ensure that all sick leave records are kept as per Company procedure. Making recommendation for appropriate action in consultation with the Crewing Director for more complex issues;
• Ensuring HR documentation is completed and ensuring HR data integrity in line with the company standard;
• Providing cover for the Crewing Director Support and other members of the HR department staff as required;
• Mentoring less experienced members of staff.;
• Participating in ad hoc projects as required;
• Providing payroll data to outsourced provider, ensuring data integrity and reporting to relevant authorities.
• Vessel crewing and offshore logistics;
• Dealing with employee relations issues, handling disciplinary and grievance cases;
• Working effectively with Trade Unions and/ or Staff Associations;
• The Norwegian Working Environment Act, the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NSA and I.E. relating to Mobile Offshore Units and drilling and catering on permanently placed facilities on the NCS and the ITF Collective Bargaining Agreement;
• Oil and gas and marine legislation relevant to the business (e.g STCW, ISM etc);
• UK HSE and Norwegian PSA knowledge.
