Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate project budgets and cost estimates in collaboration with engineering and commercial teams.
• Track actual expenditures, commitments, and forecast costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Conduct variance analyses and provide detailed monthly cost reports with insightful commentary.
• Support trend and change management processes, including cost/schedule impact analysis, risk and opportunity assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Monitor contractor/vendor costs, review progress claims and variations.
• Participate in construction acceptance and close-out activities.
• Maintain and update cost data and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cost Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a construction or engineering environment.
• Familiarity with Chinese construction standards and Chinese drafting style.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written).
• Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge in engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and financial reporting.
• Experience with digital budgeting and cost management tools.
• Willingness to work on a 14/7 rotational schedule in Brokopondo, Suriname.
