Job Description

We are currently seeking a Part Time Cook to join our professional and dynamic kitchen team. You will primarily work the breakfast shift starting at 6am, preparing and serving food for the hotel buffet breakfast, and assisting in food preparation for Distrikt Press café and our all-day dining menu. There may be opportunities to cover other shifts for conferences or dinner, assist as a kitchen hand on busy days, and take on some F&B shifts if interested.

This role is ideal for someone studying cookery seeking kitchen experience or an experienced cook looking for additional hours.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food for the breakfast buffet, demonstrating variety and flair.
  • Maintain strict stock rotation and minimize wastage following stock control procedures.
  • Wash all dishes and equipment during and at the end of shifts.
  • Follow Food Safety protocols diligently.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy; wash all dishes during service.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned; report any issues to the CDP & General Manager.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Cook or Breakfast Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent is an advantage but not essential.
