CONTROLS ENGINEER
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the process engineering and product change teams on projects that support plant operations – Process changes due to customer requests (new programs) and/or internal projects (continuous improvement).
- Actively lead problem-solving analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Participate in the preparation and updating of engineering system documents related to their area of operation, performing audits under their responsibility.
- Comply with the company’s safety standards and properly use the required PPE, as well as report unsafe conditions and actions using safety systems and policies.
- Develop complete automation solutions focused on productivity, efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and both conventional and collaborative industrial robots.
- Configure, program, and integrate vision systems for inspection, quality, and traceability applications.
- Configure, program, and integrate electronic torque tools for assembly applications.
- Execute tests and validations of automated and robotic systems.
- Participate in technical meetings with multidisciplinary teams and clients, presenting solutions and contributing technically to the projects.
- Create and maintain technical documentation: diagrams, operation manuals, test plans, etc.
- Provide technical support to maintenance, production, quality, and process engineering areas.
- Participate in validation, testing, and continuous improvement of implemented systems.
EXPECTATIONS
- Interface with all aspects of operations, including Quality and IT.
- Availability for shift work.
- Understand Android operations systems (programming).
- Interface daily with Android factory contacts regarding any issues.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Control and Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, and/or related fields.
- Experience in programming PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, scanners, and electronic torque tools.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols: PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus, among others.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
DIFFERENTIALS
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems.
- Experience and/or certifications (Siemens, Cognex, Keyence, Atlas Copco, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, etc).
- Experience and/or certifications in industrial networks and integration of various systems.
- Knowledge of NR-12 safety standards.
