BW Energy Limited in Brazil seeks a Control Room Operator to monitor and control production processes, operate the DCS, Fire & Gas, and ESD systems, and respond promptly to operational deviations and emergencies.

You will support well testing, troubleshooting, and the accurate recording of operational data, and work closely with the operations team to ensure safe, efficient plant performance. Advanced English is required, with adherence to BW procedures and Permit to Work rules.

Qualificações

• Technical education is required; engineering degree is a plus.
• Experience as a Control Room Operator or similar role.
• Fluent English language skills.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor plant and equipment operation for safety and efficiency.
• Log and interpret data; coordinate with DCS Technician on DCS/PLCs.

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling production processes and systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role operates the DCS, Fire & Gas, and ESD systems, monitors plant performance, and responds to operational deviations and emergencies. The position also supports well testing, troubleshooting activities, and accurate recording of operational data.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the DCS, Fire & Gas System, ESD System. (Emergency Shutdown).
• To act consciously and safely in times of emergency by understanding your role and following the OIM´s instructions.
• Monitor the correct operation of all plant and equipment.
• Log taking and understanding and interpretation of data. Work closely with DCS Technician on all matters concerning the DCS or PLCs. (Program to control the plant). Use the DCS efficiently and react immediately in case of emergency.
• Maintain historical trends of the various process systems.
• To fill out the shift logbook with all relevant information regarding fire and gas systems, process conditions, and inhibition, and to ensure it is properly recorded and archived.
• Perform well testing and ensure the correct data is obtained through a report to be presented Well Testing Department.
• Test the wells and ensure correct data collection through a report to be presented to the Well Testing Department.
• Participate on plant troubleshooting.
• Inform Production Supervisor when the system is unstable or malfunctioning.
• Other duties that are correlated to the function as directed and requested by Production Supervisor Or Production Superintendent.
• Keep up certification applied to the function and medical certificates up to date.
• Attend Company training as defined. Perform all emergency duties assigned to their function, in response to the emergency, if applicable.
• Ensure compliance with BW procedures, applied to the function, including BW Permit to Work System.
• Need to be fully familiar and comply with Company Policies, Quality, HSE and all Procedures assigned to his title/position.
• Anticipate and notice any unsafe condition and assure that the correction actions are taken according to procedure.
• Responsible for your own safety and for the safety of your co-workers.

Education

Technical education required; Engineering degree is a plus

Advanced English Level

Experience

• Experience as a Control Room Operator or in a similar role.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of Fire & Gas (F&G) detection logic and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) system architecture, including shutdown levels and Cause & Effect matrix, sufficient to recognize abnormal conditions and respondperthecompany's instructions.
• Knowledge of process safety systems and safe operating envelopes of the topside process, sufficient to support troubleshooting and inform the Production Supervisor of instability or malfunction.
• Knowledge of shift handover and logbook recording requirements for fire and gas systems, process conditions, and inhibition status.
