Qualificações

  • 3+ anos de experiência na redação e análise de contratos de commodities.
  • Experiência preferencial em negociação de contratos no setor de gás natural.
  • Habilidade para explicar termos contratuais em português e inglês.

Responsabilidades

Job Description:

What’s the role

The Contracts Advisor is responsible for completing commodity contracts, and related documents, for the purchase and sale of natural gas products in Brazil. The role supports the Sales & Origination team by drafting and negotiating commodity contracts, amendments, non-disclosure agreements, natural gas transportation agreements, reviews and drafts transaction confirmations, and other tasks during the negotiation phase until contract signing.

The role also supports Shell Energy Americas' natural trading and business development activities in Brazil and is part of the Global Contracts organization within Shell Trading & Supply Commercial Operations.

What you’ll be doing

As Contracts Advisor, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing commercially focused advice and completing contract negotiations aligned with Shell Trading & Supply policies. Managing the contract process from initial advice to drafting, analysis, negotiation, internal approval, and execution.
  • Identifying risks related to deviations from Shell’s standard contract terms, gathering input from stakeholders such as Credit, Finance, Tax, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance, and reviewing related contracts. Possessing a comprehensive knowledge of Brazil's natural gas market is essential.
  • Collaborating closely during negotiations with the Sales & Origination team and other stakeholders like Legal, Finance, and Credit, attending meetings in Portuguese and English. Ensuring all approvals and waivers are obtained before contract signing. Maintaining contract records per Shell policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting Senior Contracts Advisors during negotiations of structured gas and power deals.
  • Suggesting updates or improvements to written processes and procedures, developing new templates as needed.

What you bring

  • Legal authorization to work full-time in Brazil.
  • At least 3 years of experience in drafting, analyzing, and negotiating commodity purchase/sale contracts, preferably in natural gas trading in Brazil.
  • A degree in Law, Engineering, Business, Administration, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in energy marketing and trading industry.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and oral); Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong commercial acumen and support skills for the Sales and Origination team.
  • Ability to explain contractual terms clearly in Portuguese and English.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work autonomously with mature judgment.
  • Problem-solving skills, including selecting optimal courses of action, exercising judgment, researching, and developing business knowledge.
  • Team-oriented attitude, openness to learning, and continuous improvement mindset.
