Description & Requirements

Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes.

The Company Financials team provides our clients with fast and accurate market-moving data so they can stay on top of their game: broker estimates, financial filings, and any other dataset that is useful to understand financial performance in the markets. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insights provided by the industry teams. We combine financial modeling, industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to curate critical metrics and drive insights from our data.

We are dedicated to crafting a best-in-class financial analysis and modeling product while constantly looking to enhance and expand our existing offering through a deep understanding of the markets we operate in, the sectors we cover, and our clients current and future needs.

What’s the role?

The Company Financials Market Data team is looking for a Senior Market Data Analyst who combines strong relationship management, market insight, and regulatory awareness to lead product development to incorporate regional nuances and relevance to the respective markets. This role focuses on understanding financial market structure, maintaining strong partnerships, and ensuring data quality and timeliness to support our suite of Company Financials products. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other Company Financials teams, helping shape the direction of our data offerings in response to client demand and market developments.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Monitor and interpret financial regulations, exchange rule changes, and emerging trends to ensure Bloomberg’s Company Financials data offering remains compliant, competitive, and market-leading.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with exchanges and third-party data vendors across multiple geographies to secure access to critical data sources and insights.

  • Lead initiatives to improve and expand market data coverage, helping design and manage structured projects aligned with business and client needs.

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Financial Product, Compliance) to translate market needs into actionable data strategies.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on specific markets or data types, guiding how financial filings and disclosures are sourced, processed, interpreted, and used across Bloomberg platforms.

  • Contribute to the development of automation and monitoring tools by offering business insight and data structure understanding; some familiarity with Python or scripting is welcome.

  • Create and maintain clear documentation, business rules, and operating procedures to support team scalability and transparency.

  • Represent the Company Financials team in external engagements such as working groups, regulatory consultations, and client feedback sessions.

You’ll need to have:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in financial markets, particularly within market data, exchanges, investor relations, or regulatory environments.

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • Deep understanding of company filings, financial disclosures, and market data structures.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive results across teams.

  • Proven track record of external stakeholder management and relationship building.

  • A proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with an ability to distill complex issues for a variety of audiences.

We’d love to see:

  • Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal, Company Financials products, and/or Bloomberg’s data management workflows.

  • Experience working with or within financial exchanges or regulators.

  • Knowledge of key global financial reporting regimes (e.g. IFRS, US GAAP).

  • Exposure to data science or coding tools (e.g., Python, SQL) to support data exploration and project work.

  • Multilingual skills or experience working in a global context.
