Communications Manager, SOLA

The Opportunity

Netflix is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to be based in our Buenos Aires office, with strong media relations, experience in brand, corporate, and digital PR, and a thorough understanding of Argentinean culture, fandom, and love of entertainment. They will be responsible for leading our comms strategy in Argentina, creating innovative campaigns that tell the story of our brand through our titles, creating strategies with external brand partners, and positioning Netflix and its executives in the industry.

The Role

  • Responsible for maintaining and growing the relationships with key stakeholders including talent, media and key opinion leaders, among others.

  • Shape and manage campaigns for corporate/brand narratives, using multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print, online, new media, and influencers.

  • Serve as the expert on the market, able to convey cultural needs and nuances that impact global campaigns and Netflix's work with talent, both in front of and behind the camera.

  • Conceptualize and actualize creative ideas that will make an imprint on the cultural zeitgeist.

  • Experience managing multiple senior-level relationships.

  • Formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into work successfully.

  • Responsible for the management and growth of a small team of highly creative, motivated PR professionals.

  • The candidate should be able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity, and think strategically. They don’t fall back on PR 101 tactics and are eager to put a new spin on what a campaign can be.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid candidates are good cross-functional collaborators, clear communicators, and can handle a high volume of work and unpredictability.

  • They are curious and ask questions, and they also contribute effectively outside of their specialty.

  • Successful candidates will have a candid and direct communication style.

  • They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they’re tactful in handling such issues.

  • They are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with our values and Netflix culture.

  • Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking—connecting the dots when others cannot. Able to make the leap from information to insight. Able to identify, nurture and help refine compelling creative ideas and concepts. Takes risks and elevates work.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate for the role will likely possess 8+ years of experience in a similar role and hold a wide range of relationships in media, influencers, and the industry.

  • Broad knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, gaming, advertising, and lifestyle trends in Argentina is preferred.

  • Candidate needs to be a great communicator, both written and verbal, and skilled at building relationships.

  • We expect this person to organize, summarize, clarify, and communicate ideas simply, succinctly, and accurately.

  • Management-level experience is preferred in terms of scope.

  • The ability to speak/write in Spanish & English fluently is essential.
