Job Title: Commodity Manager

Work Arrangement: ON-SITE

This position will report within the DRiV business group, which is Tenneco’s aftermarket product solutions group. DRiV aims to deliver advancements that help people get the most out of every vehicle, ride, race, and journey. We focus on delivering top-tier results behind branded product solutions for our community and shareholders.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement commodity strategies to achieve corporate, purchasing, and business line goals/objectives.
  2. Organize and lead commodity strategy meetings with cross-functional and cross-business audiences across regions.
    • Work with DRiV operations to develop scope of work for services, equipment, etc., for RFPs with existing and potential suppliers.
  3. Support performance-based requirements regionally for assigned commodities, focusing on KPIs such as sourcing ratio, auction, savings %, working capital, and supplier rationalization.
    • Supply base rationalization, development, spend management, segmentation considering geographic factors, BCC, localization, and technology trends.
    • Proven experience in negotiation levers including e-RFP and e-auction.
    • Knowledge of supply market trends and characteristics.
    • Utilize commodity expertise to create/update Business Plans and Strategic Plan Metrics, including cost reduction and technology drivers.
    • Set negotiation strategies and lead negotiations.
    • Drive cash flow improvements through negotiations on payment terms, stock agreements, and inventory management.
  4. Organize and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for assigned commodities.
    • Develop supplier partnerships and strategic alliances.
    • Manage supplier approval processes and escalate relationship issues.
    • Manage risks related to supplier financial instability or insolvency.
    • Enforce Tenneco’s supplier requirements.
  5. Coordinate with legal teams to ensure contractual compliance and risk mitigation.
  6. Travel required: 5-25%, domestically and internationally.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Materials Management, or Logistics; MBA preferred. CPM/CPIM certification is a plus.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in Purchasing, Procurement, or Materials Management.
  • Experience with RFQ processes, data analysis, and commodity strategies.
  • Proven high-level negotiation and materials management experience.
Skills
  • Experience leading a global team to achieve savings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
