Having established a regional office in Sao Paulo in 2021, we have grown our business in Brazil significantly, and this role presents an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly scaling team within a key market of MatchWornShirt’s wider operation. The role itself will play a pivotal part in developing MatchWornShirt’s portfolio of partners in the region, whilst simultaneously nurturing our existing partners, ensuring the gold standard of partner relations, is met throughout.
About The Team
The Business Development & Partnerships team consists of more than 20 people split between our offices in Amsterdam, London, Istanbul, Sao Paulo and Melbourne. Our team is an encapsulation of everything that MatchWornShirt is about and as such should be exemplary in the way that we work and manage stakeholders internally and externally.
About The Role
As Commercial Manager Brazil, you will report directly to the global Head of Business Development and Head of Partnerships - and work closely with the wider Partnerships and Business Development team to manage and expand the regional partnership portfolio. You will be one of the main points of contact between MatchWornShirt and our partners in the region, working with each one to spot opportunities and maximise returns from a financial brand & engagement standpoint. You will be the driving force behind new business in the region and will work closely with the local team and the wider business development team to strategically form commercial partnerships across the region.
Your Roles And Responsibilities Include
- Work with the Business Development team to identify and formulate commercial proposals to expand business in the region and beyond
- Identify opportunities and build relationships not only in Brazil but across the south American sporting network
- Full responsibility for best-in-class partnership management of the partners in the Brazil portfolio
- Immersing yourself within your partnership network; understand each rights holder and developing a deep understanding of the clubs and individuals that you work with utilising that understanding to identify and execute opportunities within our partnerships to maximise financial performance
- Adding maximum value to our partners by building trust and strengthening personal relationships
- Offer support across multiple departments to learn how MWS operates and understand the full-service solution that we offer in order to facilitate positive and sustainable partnerships
We Are Looking For The Following Skillset
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to spot an opportunity and capitalise on it
- Effective communicator. You must be able to effectively articulate your thoughts, initiatives and feedback to both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent Portuguese and English language skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work in the very dynamic (or even hectic!) world of sports across many different cultures and languages
- Energetic personality, willing to roll up your sleeves and drive success
- Highly driven and selfmotivating with the ability to work autonomously and under strict deadlines
- You must be proactive rather than reactive. We need to be one step ahead and it’s imperative that you bring this mentality to the role
- You must be a team player and be comfortable holding internal and external conversations at every level of a business
- A good understanding of our business and the market in which we operate
- Problem-solving mindset. For many of our partners, our concept is new and brings up a lot of questions. You need to able to think solutions and to provide reassurances that they are in good hands
- Can-do mentality. This may sound like a 'given', but it is an essential trait across our business. We always find a way to make it work
- An ability to thrive in a chaotic market. Brazil carries a relentless and chaotic football environment
- Ambition to grow in the role and move into a leadership position within the Brazil business
Experience & Qualifications
- 3-5 years industry experience in a sports commercial role
- University degree in relevant field
- A Brazilian passport or valid working rights for Brazil

Our Procedure Consists Of The Following Rounds
- Introductory video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager (± 20 min)
- Assessment and personality questionnaire (± 120 min)
- In-office interview round 1 (± 45-60 min)
- In-office interview round 2 (± 45-60 min)
- A final conversation with CEO & Founder, Tijmen Zonderwijk (± 30 min)
