MGI — Technical Sales Specialist

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Sales Growth and Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets in your territory.
  • Customer Engagement and Support: Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, and industry stakeholders in academic, government, and private sectors. Provide pre-sales consultation and post-sales support, ensuring customers achieve optimal results with MGI products.
  • Technical Expertise and Education: Deliver technical presentations, seminars, and workshops to educate customers on product capabilities and applications. Collaborate with Field Application Scientists, product managers, and R&D to provide comprehensive technical and promotional support. Gather and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies. Contribute to marketing efforts through trade shows, vendor events, and other promotional activities.
  • Reporting and Administration: Maintain accurate CRM records (e.g., Salesforce), prepare sales forecasts, and provide regular activity reports. Monitor sales metrics to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK
  • Field-based role, eligible for remote work based in Brazil
  • Up to 50% travel across the territory to engage with customers and stakeholders, demonstrate and sell NGS instruments, attend regional events, and support market initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING US
  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of NGS, DNA sequencing, RT-PCR, and molecular biology applications. Hands-on experience with library preparation, lab automation, and system integration for sequencing workflows. 5+ years of successful sales experience in life sciences, genomics, or related fields. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals and develop long-term customer relationships.
  • Tech-Savvy Skills: Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Language: English - advanced level; Spanish - intermediate/advanced knowledge desired

In your day to day, you will be responsible for:

  • Drive Growth: Propose and close new contracts, meet and exceed revenue goals, and ensure client satisfaction in your territory.
  • Build Relationships: Engage with key decision-makers at small to mid-sized organizations to understand their needs and align our services to support their goals.
  • Prospect Like a Pro: Use a blended approach of outreach—social media, email, cold calling, and more—to grow and manage your sales funnel.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing and field sales to identify new opportunities and cross-sell within existing accounts.
  • Stay Organized & Informed: Maintain accurate sales data in Salesforce and stay up to date on our full suite of services.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • At least 2 years of experience in a consultative inside sales role.
  • 1+ year of experience selling assurance services (a plus!).
  • Proven ability to meet/exceed sales quotas and close deals with confidence.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce, plus the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt and apply a structured sales methodology.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and verbal).
