Role: Clinical Research Scientist
Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil
Reporting to: Global Claims Substantiation Manager
Purpose
The Clinical Research Scientist is responsible for performing and assisting clinical research trials to substantiate the performance of active and/or functional ingredients and finished formulations. This position works closely with the global and regional technical community, commercial team, and customers to conduct in vivo studies and progress key projects toward desired results.
Responsibilities
- Assist in defining or recommending the adequate protocol, methodology and equipment to support the expected ingredient/formulation performance.
- Coordinate panelist recruitment and scheduling of their visits for the evaluation.
- Analyze, interpret, and draft the primary study report.
- Conduct research programs to understand skin specifics (related to age, phototype, ethnicity, etc.) and best methods to support them.
- Understand and recommend cutting edge technology to demonstrate actives/formulations performance.
- Establish a strong connection with counterparts in the global R&D organization to ensure alignment on information exchange and collaboration.
- Follow Laboratory Document Control to maintain laboratory records, reports, and files.
- Analyze and suggest selected purchase equipment and drive the maintenance and service for in vivo lab.
- Assist in vivo manager to resolve administrative and technical problems.
- Maintain lab health and safety by participating in regular safety inspections and adhering to safety standards.
Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or similar.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
- Well-organized, proactive, able to assume responsibilities and with good tolerance to change.
- Good English level (both oral and written).
- Good Spanish level (both oral and written) is a plus.
- Experience in claim substantiation in an in vivo lab, especially for skin care, hair care/cleansing, is a plus.
- Knowledge of cosmetic formulations is a plus, such as the creation of formulas for creams, shampoos, conditioners, and gels.
- Experience in data analysis and/or computer vision is a plus.
- Knowledge of GraphPad Prism and some image analysis software is a plus.
