We are looking for Clinical Data Engineer who wants to learn and transform his career.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end clinical data pipelines across lake/warehouse environments (build, run, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot) to ensure stable, traceable operations.
- Assist with operational support activities including monitoring/alerting, incident triage, root cause analysis support, and implementing corrective/preventive actions under guidance.
- Develop and enhance cloud ETL/ELT pipelines (AWS/Azure) for ingestion, transformation, and delivery, following established patterns and standards.
- Implement automation for scheduling, repeatable ingestion, and automated quality checks to improve reliability and timeliness.
- Design, develop, and maintain operational dashboards and data visualizations using approved platforms to support pipeline health monitoring, data quality oversight, and operational reporting for stakeholders.
- Support vendor and cross-functional integrations by implementing data transfers per specifications, performing validation/reconciliation, and escalating issues as needed.
- Collaborate with downstream teams (Stat Programming, SDTM, Analytics, Clinical Data Programming) to understand data needs and deliver required datasets/exports (format, structure, cadence).
- Contribute to on-time, high-quality delivery against agreed specifications and participate in tracking and reporting operational KPIs (e.g., timeliness, success rate, defects) through dashboards and metrics.
- Follow controlled documentation and change practices for regulated clinical processes; support GxP/CSV activities by maintaining required documentation, test evidence, and traceability as assigned.
- Apply data integrity practices (e.g., ALCOA+ expectations per internal standards) and adhere to access controls and audit trail/logging requirements in collaboration with Quality/Compliance/IT.
Mandatory Skills
- BS/BA (or equivalent) plus 5+ years in data engineering, pipeline development/operations, and multi-source data integration (clinical/biopharma preferred).
- Core skills: Foundational SQL skills; understanding of basic data modeling and data quality checks; familiarity with integration patterns (NoSQL exposure a plus).
- Programming/SDLC: Proficiency in Python (preferred) or R;
- Exposure to building/supporting pipelines with basic testing, logging, and monitoring; familiarity with Agile/SDLC concepts;
- Jira/Confluence experience preferred.
- Visualization & Reporting: Hands-on experience designing and supporting operational dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and/or QlikView.
- Data standards (preferred): Awareness of CDISC/CDASH/SDTM concepts and willingness to learn how standards impact downstream clinical deliverables.
- Data formats & Interfaces: Experience with CSV, JSON, XML and file/API-based integrations; able to validate outputs and follow transfer specifications.
- Cloud/platforms (preferred): Exposure to AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and Spark.
- DevOps: Working knowledge of GitHub/GitLab; CI/CD exposure is a plus.
- GxP & Data Integrity (preferred): Experience with regulated environments, change control, documentation, audit readiness, and data integrity requirements.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Prior regulatory inspection/audit support experience; AWS/Azure and/or Python certification.
