What You'll Do: Epic is looking for a talented Character Concept Artist to help us continue to shape the future of Fortnite. As a Concept Artist, you will work with the development teams to create memorable and compelling characters that exude personality and style. You will use your artistic expertise in color, composition, shape, and visual design to help push our iconic visual style. Your craft expertise in character design will provide the inspiration to continue pushing the boundaries of what Fortnite means to our players.

In this role, you will:

1. Collaborate closely with the Art Directors and core development team to drive and visualize different types of content across the Fortnite universe.
2. Produce unique, memorable, and compelling characters that fit the Fortnite style.
3. Create character designs in a variety of body shapes, races, and aesthetics.
4. Based on visual direction from the Art Director, collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of Epic quality, creating and iterating unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule.
5. Coordinate with other art, design, and production teams to help accomplish the goals of the product.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years experience in the game industry working in AAA game development.
• Worked on at least one AAA game in a Senior Concept Artist role.
• Experience working with intellectual properties.
• A portfolio that demonstrates a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship.
• Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume, and graphic design.
• Effective leader, collaborator, and problem solver able to coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to accurately estimate tasks and maintain schedules.
• Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines (animation, character, environment, VFX).
• You’re user-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits lead to success at Epic and influence everything we do.
