What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor accuracy, data quality, and integrity of CDI staff performance
- Conduct audits on clinical documentation specialists to ensure compliance with guidelines
- Collaborate with the CDI Manager to develop ongoing education and feedback for CDI specialists
- Review and analyze denial claims to support prevention strategies
- Provide timely feedback and recommendations for performance improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, health information management, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in clinical documentation
- Licensed RN
- Advanced knowledge of clinical documentation integrity practices and regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in a related field
- Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)
- Experience with 3M Encoder/Grouper and SMART software
- Familiarity with Medicare reimbursement systems and coding structures
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams
