World Business Lenders (WBL) provides short-term, real estate collateralized commercial loans to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States that lack access to traditional funding. WBL manages its own loan portfolio and third-party portfolios, specializing in non-performing loan pools and REO.

WBL is a U.S.-based company with a fully remote workforce.

This is a remote contract/consultant position with working hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

The role requires excellent command of written and spoken English. Resumes must be submitted in English.

Position Summary

The Asset Resolution Team Lead (also known as Case Management Team Lead) manages an assigned portfolio of distressed short-term, real estate collateralized commercial loans. They provide mentorship and support to Asset Resolution Analysts (ARAs), each managing their own distressed loan portfolios. The Team Lead is responsible for portfolio ownership, case analysis, recovery operations, and working with outside counsel to optimize asset resolution.

Key responsibilities include developing and monitoring collection, loss mitigation, and recovery strategies in collaboration with outside counsel, managing case administration, analysis, and reporting.

This leadership role requires managing a large asset portfolio, providing clear instructions to external parties, familiarity with legal proceedings (preferably in the U.S.), and financial analysis skills or experience in structured finance. Candidates should be comfortable with leadership duties and mentoring junior staff.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and monitor a non-performing real estate collateralized commercial loan portfolio.
  • Develop, train, and supervise a team of Asset Resolution Analysts.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pipeline management and financial analysis.
  • Implement recovery strategies.
  • Oversee litigation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure activities, including drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Liaise with attorneys, collection agencies, and vendors.
  • Engage with customers and their counsel for negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate case records.
  • Prepare reports on case status, performance, outcomes, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Collaborate on financial reporting, valuations, and legal strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferred from U.S. institution).
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent (preferred).
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy laws, and legal processes.
  • Knowledge of real property recording systems and titles (preferred).
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, financial analysis, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, with excellent follow-through.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
