Job summary

World Business Lenders (WBL) is seeking an analytical professional for a fully remote role within IDEA — Intelligence, Data, Engineering & Analytics. The position supports business users with reporting, analysis, and data questions under Analytics & Decision Support.

You will produce reports, dashboards, and KPIs, investigate data discrepancies, and translate business needs into analytical requirements while coordinating with data and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, information systems, or related field.
• Python or similar analytical programming experience required.
• Experience with SQL strongly preferred.
• Experience with reporting, visualization, analytics, or BI tools preferred.
• AI-assisted analysis or coding experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis ability.

Responsibilities

• Support business teams with reporting, data analysis, and day-to-day data requests.
• Prepare and maintain recurring management reports, dashboards, KPIs, and other analytical outputs.
• Perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions and support decision-making.
• Translate reporting needs from stakeholders into clear analytical requirements.
• Investigate data questions, discrepancies, and coordinate with data/tech teams to resolve them.
• Review data outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Help develop enterprise KPI definitions and reporting standards.
• Assist users in adopting data, reports, and self-service analytics tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting processes.
• Support testing/validation of new reports and datasets.

• World Business Lenders (WBL) provides short-term, real estate-backed commercial loans to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States.
• This is a fully remote position for an analytical professional with strong critical-thinking, investigative, documentation, and communication skills.

About the Role

• Within IDEA — Intelligence, Data, Engineering & Analytics — this hands‑on role supports business users with reporting, analysis, and data questions under the Analytics & Decision Support function.

What Success Looks Like

• Deliver accurate reports on time, resolve routine requests independently, and communicate findings and blockers clearly.

Typical Day‑to‑Day

• Clarify and prioritize business data requests.
• Prepare reports, investigate discrepancies, and explain findings.
• Coordinate fixes, validate changes, and document resolutions.

Key Objectives for This Role (Quarterly Focus)

• Learn WBL’s data and lending processes, take ownership of assigned reports, and improve recurring workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)

• Support business teams with reporting, data analysis, and day‑to‑day data requests.
• Prepare and maintain recurring management reports, dashboards, KPIs, and other analytical outputs.
• Perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions and support operational and management decision‑making.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and data needs and translate them into clear analytical requirements.
• Investigate data questions, discrepancies, and reporting issues and coordinate with the appropriate data or technology teams to resolve them.
• Review data and reporting outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Support the development and documentation of enterprise KPIs, metric definitions, and reporting standards.
• Help business users understand and effectively use available data, reports, and self‑service analytical tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, and automate recurring reporting and analytical processes.
• Assist with testing and validation of new reports, datasets, metrics, and analytical products.
• Support other analytical projects and initiatives as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, information systems, or a related field.

Required Experience

• Python or similar analytical programming experience is required.
• Experience working with SQL strongly preferred.
• Experience with reporting, visualization, analytics, or business intelligence tools preferred.
• AI-assisted analysis or coding experience is a plus

Technical Skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business questions into data‑driven analysis.

Soft Skills

• 100% fluency in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Background / Industry Experience

• Experience in lending or financial services, business‑user support, and data reconciliation preferred.
