Description

Our growing company is seeking a fully remote, full-time Benefits Specialist to join our team as a vital thought partner to the Vice President, Human Resources.

In this exciting role, you'll be instrumental in shaping our comprehensive benefits strategy, ensuring compliance, and optimizing our offerings for a diverse workforce across multiple states. Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

This is a full-time role with benefits*, including great hotel discounts within our existing portfolio of operations.

Responsibilities

As our Benefits Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our benefits administration, working closely with the HR team to provide an exceptional employee experience. Your core responsibilities will include:
Benefits Administration & Strategy:
• Manage overarching benefits administration for all countries of operation.
• Lead Open Enrollment processes and develop compelling communication strategies.
• Conduct benefit determination and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee new hire offers of coverage and new property benefits enrollments & processes.
• Handle employee status conversions efficiently.
• Serve as the UKG benefits module owner, with the HRIS Sr. Manager as backup.
• Conduct regular benefit system audits and manage EDI files.
Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure ACA compliance and all healthcare compliance filings.
• Administer Leave of Absence programs, partnering with payroll for deduction compliance and state registration.
• Manage Workers' Compensation in collaboration with risk management.
• Stay current with federal and state benefits regulations.
Employee Support:
• Guide property managers through life events impacting their employee's benefits.
• Provide expert support and answer benefit-related inquiries for our property General Managers.
• Partner with broker customer service line as a resource to employees with questions
Innovation & Optimization:
• Collaborate on enhancing the overall employee benefit experience, including both insurance and non-insurance perks.
• Develop a competitive, budget-friendly benefits packet.
• Identify and implement technological solutions to optimize our benefits work.
• Take on other duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of our HR department.

Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience administering benefits (required.)
Prior experience administering benefits across multiple states (required.)
Prior experience administering benefits across multiple locations is highly preferred.
High School Diploma Required. College degree preferred but will count equivalent work experience to 4-year degree, in lieu of diploma.
Travel Required this role requires the ability to travel at any time during the year, and most especially during open enrollment.
• Valid Driver's License Required
• A creative mind with a proven ability to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to connect and work in a remote setting
• Exceptional resourcefulness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of ACA compliance, federal, and state benefits regulations.
• Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) or similar HRIS platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex benefit information.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to be a true thought partner to leadership.
• The drive to embrace challenges and a willingness to put in the hard work required in a rapidly growing company.
• Multilingual a plus (given company's operations in Mexico)
Authorization to work within the United States is required.
