Azure Engineer

The Senior Engineer – Azure is responsible for engineering cloud automation capabilities for Azure Public Cloud. Azure Senior Engineer will be part of the Cloud Engineering team which is responsible for building automated provisioning and platforming engineering abstraction for improved developer experience.

The Cloud Engineering team ensures public cloud services are provisioned in a timely manner to Business partners. The Cloud Engineering team also ensures the various public cloud services remain compliant to the highest of security and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Participate in designing solutions for automated provisioning and compliance of various Azure services using cloud-native capabilities and microservices-based development.
2. Partner with cross-functional teams in the design and development of various hybrid cloud capabilities. Facilitate design and review sessions between multiple teams including Application Engineering, Operations, Quality and Security teams.
3. Create design documents, common patterns that facilitate the acceleration of adoption of various cloud services among application teams.
4. Drive innovation through automation of services and capabilities.
5. Design, deploy and maintain complex Azure-based infrastructure and solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
6. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for cloud-based projects.
7. Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates for deploying Azure resources and cloud foundation.
8. Create Multi region Cloud foundation and automation for Azure.
9. Design and deliver Self-service Cloud capability delivery.

Required Qualifications

1. BA/BS required, preferably in STEM field.
2. 3+ years of relevant technology experience.
3. 2+ years of public cloud (Azure) experience.
4. Strong expert level skills of Azure services including PaaS service.
5. Strong hands-on coding skills in Terraform, Groovy to build automation pipeline for deploying resources, team vending on Azure.
6. Strong background in software engineering.
7. Hands-on experience in building solutions using various Azure services.
8. Hands-on experience in one or more programming languages preferably Python.
9. Strong understanding of agile development processes and Agile tool set JIRA.
10. Understanding of micro-services and REST APIs-based application development.
11. Understanding of GIT-based source code management, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices using tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Groovy Scripting.
12. Experience in deployment of multi-tenant Kubernetes platform.
13. Understanding of basic Linux kernel and Windows server operating system.
14. Experience in working with bash, PowerShell scripting.
15. Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to management effectively.
16. Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
17. With little supervision, must be able to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with others.
18. Strong verbal and writing skills.
19. Must be results-driven, a quick learner, and a self-starter.
