Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an experienced AWS IoT Solutions Architect to lead cloud architecture assessments and define a target AWS platform for IoT deployments. This role focuses on migration planning, secure multi-tenant design, and scalable platform reuse across products.

You will design MQTT ingestion, device fleet management, and SOC 2 compliant security, while guiding the business in build-vs-buy decisions and customer-facing security excellence. Remote work available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture.
• Strong expertise in AWS.
• Proven IoT platform architecture on AWS.
• Experience with GCP migration.
• Background in SOC 2 security architecture.
• Experience with multi-tenant RBAC and IAM design.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design a multi-tier access model supporting different user roles across the platform.
• Architect for SOC 2 security requirements and act as the client-facing expert on security questions.
• Design the platform for reuse across future product lines, not as a one-off solution.

What You'll Do

• Assess current cloud architecture and produce a target AWS architecture and migration plan, including an honest recommendation on whether migration is the right choice.
• Design IoT platform architecture on AWS, including MQTT ingestion and device fleet management.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions on AWS IoT Core, managed authentication, and third-party billing.
• Design a multi-tier access model supporting different user roles across the platform.
• Architect for SOC 2 security requirements and act as the client-facing expert on security questions.
• Design the platform for reuse across future product lines, not as a one-off solution.

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture.
• Strong expertise in AWS.
• Proven experience with IoT platform architecture on AWS, including MQTT ingestion and device fleet management.
• Experience with GCP to AWS migration.
• Background in SOC 2 security architecture.
• Experience with multi-tenant RBAC and IAM design.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Auth0 or Cognito.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL time-series workloads.
• Experience with Apache NiFi or equivalent message routing tools.
• Background with Stripe or subscription-billing integration.
• Experience with cloud cost and egress optimization.
• Exposure to Ubuntu Core or edge Linux environments.
