Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your systems engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of train movements by designing and optimizing our Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including verification and validation, project deployment, and customer support), lead design reviews, and investigate system performance issues for corrective actions, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of designing system architecture, specifications, and interfaces, but also ensure the ATC configuration is tailored to meet customer needs and ready for testing.
We’ll look to you for:
Designing ATC systems and producing related documentation (e.g., specifications, architecture, interfaces, and electrical diagrams).
Leading ATC design activities, including design reviews and ensuring alignment with established processes.
Ensuring hardware and/or software configurations are performed accurately and meet testing or customer requirements.
Investigating Verification and Validation (V&V) test failures and implementing corrective actions.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to balance technical risks and evaluate design trade-offs.
Defining and assessing system requirements and interfaces in alignment with the system roadmap.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Degree in engineering (electrical/electronics, embedded systems, or equivalent).
Technical courses in electrical/electronics or related areas (advantageous).
Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) at an intermediate level.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools at an intermediate level.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
Skills in system specification and requirements development.
Basic software development skills.
5+ years of experience in complex real-time systems (e.g., signaling, avionics, defense, or safety-related systems).
Experience with signaling systems, Automatic Train Operation (ATO), or rolling stock systems (especially those interfacing with trainborne Automatic Train Protection (ATP), such as brakes, traction, and doors).
Advanced proficiency in English and intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
Willingness to travel for business purposes.
