Our Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice consistently provides firms with the professional consulting expertise necessary to resolve conflict through fact-finding and critical analysis. We have conducted thousands of due diligences and investigations worldwide and have an unmatched track record of resolving disputes and working with in-house and outside counsel in internal or regulatory inquiries.

In the Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice, an Associate is responsible for conducting research and analysis, helping to prepare conclusions for clients. This role requires an imaginative and creative thinker with the ability to work to tight deadlines often balancing a significant and varied caseload. The incumbent will conduct accounting and financial analyzes for a wide range of clients across a variety of industries, providing clarity in report writing. The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent judgment and be driven by professional excellence and a commitment to the Kroll brand. A key interest in business intelligence, forensic accounting investigations, litigation support, business strategy and global events and markets is essential due to the range of cases that will be handled across various industry-sectors.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  1. Conducting financial and accounting analyzes in the context of both investigations and litigation support, with knowledge of financial and accounting systems, most common ERPs in the market, extraction of structured and unstructured data, using appropriate tools for data analytics.
  2. Processes review and understanding, determining weaknesses and deviations, process mapping and walk through.
  3. Planning team allocation, time and tasks to meet objectives set by the project manager.
  4. Developing an understanding of the strengths, appropriate uses and limitations of research tools and methods.
  5. Identifying patterns, abnormalities and interpreting their meaning within a context.
  6. Organizing findings methodically to facilitate analysis and reporting.
  7. Verifying and corroborating pertinent and noteworthy findings.
  8. Identifying gaps and following leads within parameters of objectives, timeframe and budget.
  9. Presenting accurate, relevant and robust findings to clients.
Essential Traits:
  1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree a plus. Accounting, finance, and economics are preferred fields.
  2. Strong research and analytical skills.
  3. Strong investigative abilities.
  4. Prior external audit and investigative experience is fundamental.
  5. Writing skills, including ability to quickly and effectively summarize information from multiple sources into concise analytical assessments.
  6. Financial proficiency and skills preferred.
  7. Ability to prioritize several projects and assignments on multiple topics while meeting tight deadlines.
  8. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
