Description

Romazzino a Belmond Hotel in stunning Costa Smeralda for the season 2025 is looking for a talented Assistant Sommelier to join our team.

The ideal candidate is willing to provide authentic experiences in a world-renowned destination to our guests, demonstrating care, confidence, curiosity, and community.

Reporting to the Sommelier, the candidate will have experience working in a luxury restaurant.

The position is based in Porto Cervo, Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, and the contract is full-time. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy/EU.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Anticipate guests' needs, providing an excellent and personalized guest experience according to our service standards.
• Develop special events related to wine.
• Inventory and requisitions: assist in monitoring stock levels and ordering replacement deliveries. Avoid waste and be capable of controlling beverage margins.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain appropriate beverage stock levels by monitoring purchases and sales, ensuring professional, efficient, and accurate service of all beverages, with a focus on wines, to satisfy our guests during their meal experience.

• Previous experience in similar roles in a 5-star hotel.
• At least 2 years of experience at the same level.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are desirable.
• Sommelier Association membership (AIS or WSET) appreciated.
