Job summary

Oterra is seeking a laboratory-focused professional to support the development and testing of natural colors for food and beverages. You will keep the lab and pilot plant organized while guiding student workers in sample handling and reporting.

You will perform physicochemical and colorimetric analyses, prepare reports for clients, and assist senior staff in applications and stability testing in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Academic formation: Graduation in Food/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related.
• English language proficiency (reading and conversation).

Responsibilities

• Develop technical and administrative activities to deliver the best solutions for customers and support department goals.
• Keep the laboratory and pilot plant organized and clean.
• Lead and oversee the student worker in ordering, receiving, controlling, preparing, and dispatching samples.
• Request and control reagents, ingredients and materials used in the Department.
• Perform physicochemical analyses in the company’s products when necessary.
• Perform colorimetric analyses in applications, products or other materials as required.
• Take photographs of applications and other materials for reports and sales tools.
• Assist or perform product applications at different customer bases according to specifications.
• Prepare technical reports for clients relating to applications and tests, with photos and colorimetric data.
• Assist in stability tests, shelf-life evaluation and sensory analysis.
• Keep electronic systems updated to track samples, applications and tests.
• Assist Full and Senior Analysts in their tasks.

Job Description

• Develop technical and administrative activities, aiming to deliver the best solutions/proposals to our customers and contributing to full operation and achievement of the goals of the Department.
• Keep the organization and cleanliness of the laboratory and pilot plant.
• Lead and oversee the student worker in ordering, receiving, controlling, preparing, and dispatching samples of the company's products.
• Request the purchase and control reagents, ingredients and materials used in the Department.
• Perform physicochemical analyses in the company's products when necessary.
• Perform colorimetric analysis in applications done, products or any other material as necessary.
• Take pictures of applications done and other necessary material for reports and sales tools.
• Assist or perform applications of products in different customer’s bases, according to pre-established specifications seeking the best solutions.
• Prepare technical reports for clients (internal and external) relating to applications and tests done, including photos and colorimetric evaluation.
• Assist in the execution of stability tests, evaluation of shelf-life and sensory analysis.
• Keep updated electronic systems (or not) adopted by the company to control the samples process, applications and tests.
• Assist Full and Senior Analysts in their assignments.
