Primary Duties and Responsibilities.
•Create and maintain necessary import and export shipping tracking control.
•Ensure that process progress aligns with the deadlines required by internal and external customers.
•Communicate with Compliance Department to obtain the NOV policies and guidelines for import and export processes for intercompany and Customer Orders
•Assist Logistics Manager for international freight quotations for both export and import
•Assist in reviewing contracts and arranging shipments
•Aid in resolving transportation issues related to delivery of goods to ultimate consignee
•Communicate with Freight Forwarders regarding Export and Import Documentation.
•Discuss inconsistencies regarding any documents with appropriate department
•Understand tariff codes/appropriate classification for import and export of first-time equipment and inventory items
•Analyze logistics trends and procedures
•Other duties as assigned by Supply Chain and Logistics Manager
Major Responsibilities:
•Ability and desire to stay well within KPI’s and Budget.
•Improve on all import transactions.
•Review files for accuracy and ensure P&L is balanced.
•Emplace processes to save money as well as improve service.
•Generate monthly reports on exports to review with Logistics Manager.
•Continually monitor, measure and improve on import and export processes.
•Primary point of contact for logistics software and software changes.
•Create and Review import documentation for accuracy and communicate as needed with FGS factories and end customers.
•Create and maintain import and export files in an organized manner.
•Create shared folders and maintain content integrity.
•Communicate with Compliance Department to obtain import classification and instructions.
•Coordinate between freight forwarders and factories for quotation of services as well as provide quotations to internal customers
•Review freight invoices related to export and import shipments, code and approve through Brazil Compliance Team.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience.
•At least 4 years of experience in import and export process, with a background in working with direct shippers, freight forwarders or suppliers of goods.
•Knowledge of terminology used for international transactions, e.g. INCO Terms, Liner Terms, Shippers’ Letter of Instructions, FTA, Etc.
•Strong attention to detail with time management and decision-making skills
•Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment; self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities, providing precise attention to detail
•Must have excellent export and import process knowledge- ability to train.
•Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with customers.
•Knowledge of terminologies used for international transactions, ie:, INCO Terms, AES, Shippers’ Letter of Instructions, Liner Terms, International measurement and conversions, etc.
•Ability to work in a multi-task, fast-paced environment; self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities, providing precise attention to detail.
•Ability to work independently to achieve set goals.
•English proficient. Read, Write, Speak.
