Job Summary

Support the productivity of current vision inspection systems in manufacturing to improve process control and product quality. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems on vision inspection systems. Contribute to upstream process improvements using Lean Sigma tools and understanding of root causes of product ejections. Work as part of a global team providing technical support to various functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Modify and test machine vision systems and components, including software configuration.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and improve vision system mechanical, hardware, and software components.
• Support current and future vision projects.
• Apply lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce vision ejects, tune configurations, and improve changeover speed and reliability.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining vision control strategies, ensuring accurate documentation and project tracking.
• Participate in all West HSE programs and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment per West 5S standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Additional Responsibilities

Engage in applied research activities to develop or improve products, processes, and systems. Support new project development, equipment validation, and documentation. Identify opportunities for process, machine, and equipment improvements to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance safety and quality. Conduct manufacturing process training, investigate internal rejections, lead improvement projects, analyze critical indicators, and communicate with SMEs regarding new equipment or installations. Ensure change control and risk management processes are followed, validate processes per company standards, maintain equipment, and adhere to quality policies and safety regulations.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years in vision inspection or related field preferred
• Experience with automation, PLC, VBA, electronics troubleshooting preferred
• Experience with vision machine integration in cGMP/pharmaceutical environments preferred
• Proficiency with latest software, hardware, and vision technologies preferred
• Project management skills and ability to work independently required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of OSHA/EPA safety regulations, manufacturing, and automation
• Awareness of current industry technologies and ongoing education
• Familiarity with business and shop floor systems like SAP and MS Office
• Experience with ISO9000, FDA, and cGMP standards
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to write reports and process documents
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Compliance with SOPs, safety, and quality policies
