Summary

Responsible for the Test Engineering Process and the attributes that can affect the process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyze daily process yield reports, including operator errors, defective products, test equipment/test defects, RMA product defects, and spear corrective actions.
2. Increase production yields by understanding and reducing operator errors and driving manufacturing and test engineering defects back to the appropriate department.
3. Assist Test Engineer in developing preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance to reduce downtime and increase process yields.
4. Analyze downtime sheets to set guidelines for preventative maintenance scheduling.
5. Maintain all process manuals and documentation properly.
6. Review all 5x5 tests to ensure they were performed and adhered to.
7. Perform walkthroughs, inspections, product evaluation, and testing as needed.
8. Conduct NPI test evaluations.
9. Prevent test escapes.
10. Ensure product testing completeness and reliability.
11. Update and generate documentation as required.
12. Assist Project Test Engineer with test process review.
13. Evaluate test probes.
14. Set up equipment for programming and verification tests following established procedures.
15. Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded and improve efficiency using SPC systems when available.
16. Operate automated electronic test equipment on circuit board assemblies and subassemblies.
17. Maintain a continuous flow of the manufacturing line and meet production goals while performing test duties.
18. Label and stamp boards, fill out tags, and ensure proper handling and marking of assemblies.
19. Report recurring test failures for prompt corrective action.
20. Maintain daily logs and production tickets accurately.
21. Follow written directions for test operations and adhere to safety and security policies.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

Typically reports to Management, such as Production Supervisor or Manager. This role does not involve direct management responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to interpret technical procedures, regulations, and business materials.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions.
• Mathematical skills including probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Problem-solving skills with data analysis and interpretation.

Education & Experience

• Associates of Science in NT Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or Technical Certification preferred.
• Three to five years of experience, or equivalent education and training.
