Role: Customer Service Representative

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for creating and updating Business Partners (BPs) for your clients (new and existing). You will serve as the main point of contact for external communication and be responsible for customer satisfaction. You will utilize your knowledge in air freight forwarding to assist clients with daily challenges, answer inquiries, and investigate complaints. Additionally, you will leverage your understanding of Kuehne+Nagel's products and services to best meet customer needs. You will be supported by an OCC team that assists with operational and administrative tasks and acts as a bridge to the sales team.

How you create impact

  • Responsible for onboarding and implementing new clients, ensuring all documents (SOPs, Work Instructions, credit setup, etc.) and system requirements (Customer Profile, platform access, QTAir quotes, etc.) are correctly established and available, and client requirements are met.
  • Understand the client’s supply chain and have initial experience in supply chain management, acting as a consultant for business-related inquiries.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for deviations and complaints: investigate root causes and propose long-term solutions.
  • Provide clients with information such as flight details, logistics options, release requests, and special handling instructions.
  • Manage financial communications with clients as needed, including payment instructions and dispute resolution.
  • Proactively monitor shipments (import/export): track and record key milestones, anticipate issues, inform clients, analyze performance data, and manage continuous improvement plans using tools like KPIs and BI reports.
  • Maintain proactive communication and strong relationships with clients.
  • Participate in QBRs and act as a subject matter expert when requested.
  • Receive transportation orders and provide quotations using the quoting tool. Organize pre-transport activities with clients, anticipating deadlines.
  • Handle, validate, analyze, and monitor client cargo claims until resolution.

  • Experience in customer service within air freight, especially in import processes.
  • Ideally, experience with freight forwarding.
