About the role

The mission of the Capital Management team is to ensure Nubank's capital optimization for the long term. The area operates in:

• Protect Nubank's capital, ensuring that it is put to the best possible use.
• Assess and seek the appropriate level of capital to support Nubank's long-term objectives.
• Influencing legislation and regulations together with the Public Policy Team when we believe Nubank can contribute.
• Anticipate potential adverse scenarios that could affect Nubank's capital position and plan ahead for the optimal response.
• Efficiently comply with the regulation and the reports required by the regulator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robust financial models to forecast capital needs, taking into account different scenarios and potential risks.
• Formulation of capital strategies that align with business goals and risk appetite. Evaluate different scenarios and propose optimal capital allocation plans.
• Understand and evaluate impacts of new capital regulation (Basel, Operational limits, etc).
• Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and other relevant teams to gather data and validate assumptions.
• Analyze trends and variances in capital metrics and provide actionable recommendations.
• Lead all projects (OKRs) related to capital planning.
• Support strategic planning and decision-making processes with robust financial models.

Qualification Requirements:

• Strong understanding of financial principles and regulatory capital requirements.
• Strong analytical skills are required to manage and evaluate complex data.
• High accuracy and diligence in working with numbers and preparing detailed financial documentation.
• Advanced Sheets/Excel and Powerpoint/Slides skills.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Proven programming/coding skills: SQL, Python and/or Scala are pluses.
• Familiarity with financial modeling tools (e.g. Anaplan) is a plus.
