Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a native Portuguese speaker with a background in language teaching or assessment to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Portuguese content. This remote hourly contract requires a minimum of 15 hours per week, with fully asynchronous collaboration.

You will evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text, assess learner language across CEFR levels, and provide structured feedback to enhance AI tutoring models. Prior AI experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese (Brazilian or European).

• Fluent in English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.

• Identify learner errors and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment.
• Suggest clear, idiomatic improvements for culturally appropriate Portuguese.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and other language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels (CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+)
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Suggest clear, idiomatic improvements for culturally and linguistically appropriate Portuguese
• Provide structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese (Brazilian or European)
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required
