Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team and help support the financial health of our organization. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial operations, compliance with non-profit accounting regulations, and delivering high-quality financial reports. The Accounting Manager will manage bookkeeping, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and play a key role in supporting FUSION’s mission of empowering families in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Financial Management: Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping records using QuickBooks, including journal entries and transactions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee payments and receivables while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with non-profit accounting principles and regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare financial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, providing critical insights to support decision-making. Includes contract management and reporting to funders.
- Audit Assistance: Support external auditors by preparing required documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with FUSION’s leadership team to manage resources and ensure alignment with our mission and goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an accounting management role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other financial management tools relevant for non-profits.
- Non-Profit Expertise: Familiarity with accounting principles and practices specific to non-profit organizations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate across teams and deliver clear reports.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to resolving financial discrepancies.
