Accounting Assistant (w/a sense of humor) - Remote

At Shinesty, our mission is to make the world take itself less seriously. We focus on making people laugh first and selling second. We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, transactional matching, and assist with general accounting data entry and month-end close tasks. The candidate will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and Financial Controller, as well as interact with operations and various other departments across the company.

Responsibilities
  • AP invoice entry, including matching purchase order pricing and item receipt quantities to vendor bills and coding expenses to the correct GL.
  • AP vendor record setup and maintenance.
  • AP payment processing including checks, ACH, wires, and credit card payments.
  • AP credit card management, including maintaining receipt records and coding expenses to the correct GL.
  • AR customer invoicing.
  • AR customer inquiry assistance.
  • Matching order transactions to payment data.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Month close assistance, including running reports and maintaining various schedules.
Job Requirements
  • Efficiency in producing significant output with minimal wasted effort.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, focusing on key priorities.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Work ethic with a willingness to work hard and sometimes long hours.
  • Commitment to staying with the company and giving their best.
Must Haves
  • Good command of English, both oral and written.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Proven experience with data entry.
  • Proven experience with accounts payable and receivable.
  • General understanding of GL accounting related to AP & AR.
  • Experience with transaction matching.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • CPA Student.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with Netsuite ERP system.
  • Experience working in a team across multiple departments outside of accounting.
